Maguire, Agnes Goldie Gibb
Passed away peacefully at home May 17, 2019, in her 80th year. She was born November 29, 1939 in Sudbury, Ontario to Samuel and Adeline Pitt.

Selflessly devoted to her family, she served others without complaining, and outlasted her cancer diagnosis by several years, in part thanks to the dedication and compassion of Dr. David Hood, to whom the family is grateful.

Goldie is survived by her husband James Lawrence “Larry” Maguire, and sisters Elaine Forgo and Marjorie Wallace and brother William Pitt, having already said a goodbye to her brother Gordon Pitt. She leaves behind a daughter Jennifer Jean and her husband Todd Oliver, with grandchildren Nicholas and Madelyn of Guelph, as well as a son Michael Andrew and his wife Babettli Azzone, with grandchildren Giacobbe and Samuel of Montagnola, Switzerland.

A celebration of Goldie’s life will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Wellington. Donation cards are available at the funeral home (519-821-5077), or online condolences may be left at

As a friend to Goldie's daughter, both Maguire parents opened their home and heart to many of us when we were kids, treating us like extended children of their own. Goldie was always happy to feed us, let us sleep over, and would give us gas money after Jen got that fancy hatchback Chevette. She occasionally turned a blind-eye when we surely should have been in trouble. She was a rock, a coach, a beacon of kindness and love. I will miss her facebook posts and her charming giggle. I send my love and prayers for the family and friends during this difficult time. Tanya

God bless the family and friends of Goldie MaGuire. A tough Northern Ontario girl who among everything else, was a terrific Wife, Mother and Gramma. May your happy memories help you all get through this difficult time. Live well in heaven Goldie and watch over us all. God bless.
