Obituary for Mr. Alan Wyman

Wyman, Alan Matthew --
It is with great sadness that the family of Alan Wyman announces his sudden passing, on Tuesday April 9, 2019, at the age of 59 years. Alan will be forever remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, father & grandad.

Alan was born on July 5, 1959 in London England and came to Canada with his family at the age of three. Alan and Jan met at the University of Guelph in 1978. After graduating, they married and settled in Guelph. Alan had a long career at Blount Manufacturing and had recently retired. He was a proud father and grandad.

Alan had a passion for music, cooking, science and was a true family man. Known to many as Science Al, remembered for his wit and wisdom as well as his phenomenal guitar skills.

Alan was preceded in death by his Father, Ron and mother in law Marie Bolton. He is survived by his wife and soul mate Jan, his mother Margaret, his two children, Sam & Jessica (Kyle), his two grandchildren, Reid and Danielle, his brother Derek (Laura), his father in law, Art Bolton, brother in law Carl Bolton (Val), and his three nephews, Matt, Grant and David Bolton.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Alan's life will be held In the Chapel of Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the funeral home fellowship lounge. Jan, Sam, Jess and Kyle : After twenty plus years of fun and friendship, we had the opportunity to learn about so many more attributes of Al's through the amazing 'letters to Husband and Dad' that were written by each of you and read out at the service. Even more was gleaned from Andre's wonderful eulogy. We have had so many good times and laughs together. Life will go on but it wont be quite the same without Al's friendship and his contribution to each of us in a myriad of ways. Our sincerest thoughts are with each of you at this time. Love Diane and Ted

Words can’t express how saddened we are that your family is going through this difficult loss. Over the years we’ve seen firsthand and heard many stories about science Al’s ability to make those around him laugh. More recently, the stories were through the eyes of a 4 year old who bragged of his grandads cool guitar skills, his famous noodles and their shared love for lego. Al will certainly be missed by many. Lindsay and Craig Spivey

Hello Jan, Sam & Jess...even though this is a very sad announcement I refuse to remember Al with a frown. I spent many breaks & lunches with him. He always managed to make them interesting and entertaining. Lots of debating and laughter. I'll give Al credit for my own fledgling attempt to learn the guitar. He was a great inspiration and was always willing to give me pointers.
