Dan Murphy was a quiet thoughtful person who enjoyed the farming life. He relished his time at Rockwood and the many friends he got to know. Members from the Church congregation who continually visited him at St. Josephs was a source of great comfort , our grateful thanks to all those involved and a huge thanks to the staff at the Home who so lovingly cared for him during his long stay.

Dan was a much loved brother and dear friend who will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

I am grateful to have shared some memories with you uncle Dan in recent years, along with your loved brother, our dear uncle Bill RIP. I grew up with wonder about you and your siblings, most of you having to leave the ancestral home place. In our first meeting, you restored that wonder when you remembered so clearly every landmark and person from that place that you left behind. You will be missed by all that knew you. Sincere condolences to Eugene and family and gratitude to St. Joseph’s staff for their care and kindnesses throughout the years. With love from Anne Murphy and family, Co. Cork, Ireland.

I am so sad to hear that my gentle Uncle Dan has passed away. May he rest in peace. My condolences to Eugene, Arlene, Mairead, Siobhan, Jack and Phyliss for their care and attention to Dan since Bill passed away. My condolences also to St Joseph's staff who have looked after Dan so well for the last 17 years. I was so happy to have met him in 2018 with his brother Bill and with my cousin Eugene in 2019. He had many stories and fond memories from his school days in Glash national school.
