MCLACHLAN, Douglas Eldon - Mr. Douglas McLachlan passed away unexpectedly at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the age of 80 years. He was the loving and caring husband of Delores (née Lahay) for 61 years. They were described as 'two peas in a pod' and you would never see one of them without the other. He was the proud grandfather of Sarah McLachlan (Patrick). She brought him so much joy and his eyes would light up when they spoke on the phone together. He was just as proud to be the great-grandfather of Benjie. Doug will be truly missed by his siblings Bev Morano, Aldean Childrenhose, Doreen Adams and Don McLachlan. Pre-deceased by his parents Eldon and Nellie McLachlan, his in-law's Bill and Susan Lahay and his sister Marge Calderone. He will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and those in Balsam Lake and Gravenhurst.

Thank you to Anne Marie for her caring and loving support to both Doug and Delores at this time. To a wonderful friend, Eraldo Finoro, who was always there for Doug when he needed him. Doug would always say "I don't know what I would do without you Eraldo". A big thank you to Eraldo from both Doug and Delores. Doug's woodworking abilities were incredible. He would make chairs, tables or anything you needed. His great sense of humour will be cherished the most to those who knew him.

On behalf of Doug's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online donations and condolences can be made online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
