It is with great sadness that the family of George James Marshall announces his passing, peacefully in his home, on Friday, December 25th, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

George was born on April 4th, 1931 in Hamilton, Ontario, spent part of his youth in Newfoundland and returned to Hamilton where he grew up and eventually met his wife Sheila. George spent most of his adult life working for Federal Business Development Bank which brought him to Hamilton, St. Catharines, Owen Sound, Peterborough and Toronto. He was involved in numerous organizations over the years and was committed to his personal fitness.

George is survived by his children, Jennifer (Dave) Smith, Susan, Kathleen (Mike) Dvernechuk, Andrew (Elizabeth) and Greg (Anne). George will also be fondly remembered by his 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. George is predeceased by his parents George Senior and Catherine, wife Sheila (nee Ross) and his siblings Marguerite, Loretta, Annabelle and Neil.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, memorial services are yet to be determined.

To Jennifer, Susan, Kathleen, Andrew and Greg. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Father, George. I worked with him at the Business Development Bank, In Peterborough. He was one-of-a-kind. He always spoke of his children and what they were doing. I remember his passion for keeping fit and encouraging staff to do the same. You will miss him, I am sure.

To: George's children - I received an e-mail today from the Bank with the sad news that your Dad had passed away and am sending along my sincere condolences. I worked with your Dad for many years at the Bank while he was in the Toronto office. I have lots of fond memories of working with him and I know he will be missed.
