Obituary

CIASCHI, Italo - It is with great sadness and shock that we share the passing of Italo Ciaschi (Chico) on August 26, 2019 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Adriana (Perizzolo) and loved father (Cheech & Faj) to Patrick and Kayla. Brother of Franca Belli (Gianfranco – 2019) and Adele Donnelly (Brian), brother-in-law of Maria Rosa Perizzolo-Furminger (Jeff) and Graziano Perizzolo (Shannon) and special cousin to Sandra Niemelainen (Leo – 2015). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be sadly missed by his many friends in the Guelph and Rockwood area, especially in the Sacred Heart Parish community.

Born in Carpineto Romano, Italy, he immigrated to Canada at a young age and grew up in Sudbury, Ontario. Truly a “jack of all trades”, Italo excelled in athletics, had a passion for geography, a talent for draftsmanship and a born manager. Italo was a personable and charming man who could strike up a conversation with anyone and welcome them with a smile. Strategic thinking came naturally to him and would keep him up at night – always drumming up a plan for his latest projects. He knew how to persevere and to make the best out of this life. He will always be here with us, and would urge us, in typical Italo fashion, that this is just “bye for now!”

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 5-9p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John's Church, 45 Victoria Road North, Guelph on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 11a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, Italo would appreciate that memorial donations be made to the Sick Kids Foundation. Online donations and condolences can be made at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.

Cara Adiana, Patrick e Kayla.

Dear Ariana I was so sad to hear of Italo's passing. Although I didn't know him well he always struck me as a kind and gentle man every time I saw him at mass at Sacred Heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very sad time.

So sad that Italo is no longer with us, he was a very special member of our parish family. He was always there to help when needed. I joked with him about keeping his feet warm in the winter...but there was never any doubt about his warm heart which was filled with kindness and caring. He is for sure at peace. May God bless his family at this sad time. He will be greatly missed. Dorothy and Dianne Bergmann
