Thibodeau, Jeanette Marie

Passed away September 3rd, 2019 at Hospice Wellington after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born November 5th, 1953 in Toronto, daughter to Louis & Patricia Thibodeau, sister to Gerry (Tracey), Louise (Phil) and Teresa, and loving Auntie to many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was a good friend to many and a tremendous care giver for her Aunt Jean in Simcoe.

Jeanette, known as JT to many, had a passion for nature and outdoor activities including kayaking, canoeing, camping, biking and walking the trails. For several years, she participated as one of the volunteer group leaders in many Paddle to a Cure kayak trips. At the cottage, JT was the horseshoe pro and was a real tough one to beat! Once in retirement, JT found a new activity she loved to play called Pickleball where she made many new friends.

She had a big heart and being a positive person was a quality she strived for. JT had a great desire for helping people. She remained optimistic that she would beat her illness to the end.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, ON, on Saturday September 7th from 11am to 2pm in the Fellowship Lounge.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice Wellington or The Canadian Cancer Society in Jeanette’s memory by visiting www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com or by calling 519-821-5077.

So saddened to hear of Jeanette’s passing. Our friendship started exactly 50 years ago this month at Mayfield High School. Great memories of playing field hockey, our trip to Japan or just hanging out with the Thibodeau family on Dixie Rd. Our paths rarely crossed over the years, but we were able to catch up with each other at Pickleball. Will always remember her beautiful smile. My thoughts and prayers are with the Thibodeau family.
