Obituary

Millson, Kevin Donald –

Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Kevin was 55 just shy of his 56th birthday. Loving husband of Sharon (Heath) Millson and loving father of Ashlee and her husband Tony Cabral. Kevin was the proud grandfather of Emersyn. He was the beloved son of Brenda and the late Donald Millson and the dear brother of Karla and her husband James Begley. Kevin was the dear uncle of Jackson and Maxwell.

After being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer last August Kevin made every effort to be positive, stay hopeful and not let cancer define him. He remained strong and determined to carry on with life as normal. He never missed a beat. Handling chemo while continuing to work, do house chores, attend gatherings and treasuring the time with his little Emmy was how he kept moving forward. Kevin touch so many people. He would never want to be in the spotlight but he would definitely shine a light on you if you deserved it. No one enjoyed a good laugh like Kevin. A big kid at heart. I’m not sure what life will look like without Kevin in it but we will get there one day at a time one heartbeat at a time. Kevin and I were very blessed and we appreciated all of the kindness on this journey. I know heaven has a new star to shine down on us every night and we will always be looking up to see it shine.

Private cremation has taken place. A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to KidsAbility in honour of all of the support that KidsAbility has shown to Kevin’s granddaughter Emersyn would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N., Guelph 519-822-4731 or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com

We are so shocked and saddened as well to hear of Kevin's passing. We cheered on the Oshawa Generals to a Memorial Cup win in Kitchener, we cheered on the Blue Jays to back to back World Series wins, we continue to cheer for those Leafs! We had a heck of a time at Lake Cordova and we played Balderdash too. These were all great times we will always cherrish. To Sharon, Brenda, Ashley and family, we send our sincere condolences. Our little community is not the same without Kevin, he is missed......
We will miss our chats about Oshawa where Kevin grew up and we lived for 15 years. Brian has lost his Oshawa Generals buddy, and we will miss our baseball chats and so many other things that we shared in common.
Kevin was kindness itself , and we were blessed to become friends with Kevin and Sharon, and are deeply saddened for Sharon, Ashlee and Tony and Emersyn. Kevin was taken far too soon. We send our heartfelt condolences to all of Kevin's family.

Bonnie and I were very sad to hear the news of Kevin's passing. Though our meetings were mostly limited to seeing each other on the street while our dogs exchanged verbal jabs, it was always a great pleasure catching up with Kevin. He was a gentleman and respected member of our community. Our sincerest condolences to you and your family. God Bless

I remember Kevin and the Millson family fondly from when Kevin and I were kids in Conant PS. I went to his family cottage and he to ours. We watched the Blue Jays when they were just beginning way back when happily munching on pizza and drinking Coke in one of our basements. Listening to music of the day and just hanging out. Rest in Peace my old friend. Memories.... My condolences to his family.

May strength and comfort be with you in the days ahead as you weather this difficult time and know, that love is stronger than death.
