Obituary for Laurent Joseph Vallee

Vallee, Laurent “Larry”

Laurent Vallee (“Larry”) passed away peacefully on Sunday October 27, 2019 in the presence of his loving wife Connie in the beautiful surroundings of the Hospice Wellington. Guelph Ontario.

Larry was a devoted husband to Connie who he affectionately referred to with pride as "My Babe". After his many years of soul searching and travel, Larry met Connie and a love was born. In 2002, after a brief courtship they were married in an intimate ceremony. This marriage formed a bond in which together they overcame life's struggles and shared its joys including the birth of nephews and a niece to whom Larry became an adored uncle. Larry and Connie were happy to share their lives with a small coterie of close friends and family over the past 20 years.

Larry will be remembered as a loyal friend to all those whose lives he touched. He will also be remembered for his natural curiosity, sense of adventure, his humor, integrity, his deep seated values, honesty, his kind heartedness and quiet acts of generosity.

Larry had many passions which included sailing, diving, motorcycling, fishing, travelling, reading, cooking, languages and repairing broken things. These many interests and talents allowed him to connect with a broad range of people both young and old, and even overcoming language barriers.

He was an entrepreneur, teacher, an avid story teller, jokester, and philosopher.

Larry is survived by his wife Connie and his three siblings, Claudine (Richard Elton), Serge and Ginette Vallee.

A heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Guelph General Hospital, especially Dr. Shafir, and the staff at Hospice Wellington for their compassionate care and support in Larry’s last days.

Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life to be held at a future date for family and close friends.

If so desired, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to Hospice Wellington.

The family encourages everyone to share a special memory of Larry on the funeral home website.
