Obituary for Mr. Larry Hunter

Hunter, Lawrence (Larry) James --

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Lawrence (Larry) James Hunter on June 4, 2020 at Caressant Care LTC, Fergus. Larry spent his final years in Fergus and while residing in the home, he made many new friends with residents and staff. This past Christmas season, he enjoyed setting up his “store” to sell his Chocolate Sleighs while loving his chats with all those who visited his booth.

The staff at Fergus treated Larry with kindness and were always willing to get him another cup of tea, no matter the time of day or night. I would like to thank the team at Caressant Care, Fergus, for everything they did for Larry and me, and a special thank you to Paula for giving me that one day. It means the world to me.

Larry was a trucker from the word go, he drove it all during his trucking years, and always wanted to have just one more final haul.

Larry is predeceased by his loving wife Myrna, by his children Darrell and Dwayne Pirie, by his brother Keith and by his parents Hilda and Walter Hunter.

He is survived by his sisters Bonnie Davie, Muriel Tucci and Frances Wile, his daughters Wanda and Dawn, by his step-children Kathy (Ilmar), Gord (Jan), Charlotte (Terry) and Carolyn (Jeff), by his grandchildren Ella, Devin, Jeffrey (Kim), Darrell (Rene), Daniel, Adam, Andrew (Jess) and Stephen, and by six great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his many nephews and nieces.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son and a celebration of life will be planned a for a later date, due to social distancing.
