A Special Thank you to Dr. Renee Beland, Family Health Team (Marion) and all PSW’s from CCAC for their kind, and compassionate care that they provide to our mother during the last few years who allowed her to live out her wishes to be at home.

Our Mother’s was a hard worker; she was feisty, stubborn and had a strong personality, which allowed her to embrace many challenges though out her whole life. She showed continued love, care and support to her children and grandchildren, family members and friends. Her doors were always opened and a warm welcome always awaited you with abundance of fruit, vegetables and flowers from her garden, food and une caffe or a glass of wine.

I remember a day with Daniella, playing on her driveway. We had learned that you could light things on fire with a magnifying glass, but were having no luck with the ants. “Newspaper!” we thought. After patiently training the light on the paper for what seemed like forever, we saw a bit of smoke. Excitedly, we continued, until finally we got a tiny flame, and before we could even cheer it was being stomped out. I don’t know if Zia Luigia was an athlete in her younger days, but boy that lady could move! I guess we shouldn’t have tried this outside of the kitchen window...

We are thinking of you during this difficult time, but I hope this story put a little smile on your face.
