Obituary for Mr. Mutts Zamin

ZAMIN, Mario “Mutts” Francesco

Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph, on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Mutts, in his 82nd year, was the dear father of Michael (Judy), Tricia (Ken) Gray, Mark (Sharon), Chris (Barb) and Steven (Nadine Bettridge-Zamin). He will be remembered by his grandchildren Denielle, Abigail, Andrew, Arianne, Noah, Ella, Cole and Jackson. Mutts was the dear brother of Josephine “Pina” (Richard) Boyle and Reno (Jean) Zamin. He is specially remembered by his former wife, Carol. Mutts was predeceased by his parents Emilio and Lina (nee Bragagnolo) Zamin and by his grandson Kyle Gray (1989).

Mutts influenced the lives of many students and colleagues throughout his teaching career with the Wellington Catholic Separate School Board. He will be missed by his many friends.

Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Mutts will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 3 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment, will take place at a later date at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, to the Kidney Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Tricia, Michael, Mark,Chris and Steven Tom and I were saddened by the news of the passing of a great friend and colleague. We have such wonderful memories of our teaching times together. He was always so supportive and kind to me throughout the years. Unfortunately we didn’t hear this news until after the funeral. He was always very approachable and easy to talk to. A great teacher who was always willing to help you in every situation. Sadly missed. He always had confidence in what you were doing. My Condolences to the Zamin Family. This gentle man scared the heck out of me for a number of years when he taught shop in the transition from middle school Lourdes to High school. In the end, he taught me way more than shop. Great man and teacher
