Mary Patricia Ellig (MacNeil) of Guelph, Ontario, age 65 years, passed away just as she lived; surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Hospice Wellington.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of Rebecca MacInnis, step-daughter of the late Alexander MacInnis and daughter of the late Clifford Keeping.
Mary Pat was a woman who was so full of life; she loved any excuse to celebrate. She loved to travel and would meet new friends everywhere she went. She was dedicated to her family and friends and was the first person to call when you needed advice, as she always made time for those she loved and always had the right words of wisdom to share. Mary loved the beach, the sun on her face and a good campfire surrounded by her friends and her husband David playing his guitar.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years David Ellig, her two children Lisa Speers (Jason) and Carrie Gale (Andrew) and her grandchildren Hannah, Madelyn, Griffin and Rosemary. She will be forever remembered by her 9 siblings, Margie (Roger) Harrison, Cathy MacInnis (Michael Greenhill), Maureen (Joe) Simms, Dannie (Sheila) MacInnis, Donnie (Nancy) MacInnis, Cecilia (Robert) Bell, Sandy (Brenda) MacInnis ,Mary Anne (Brian) MacIntyre and Kevin (Andrea) Keeping.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Hospice Wellington and their team of angels who provided Mary Pat such loving and caring support in her final weeks.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 11a.m. - 1p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Hart Chapel at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Mary's life will continue immediately following the service at The Shakespeare Arms Pub, 35 Harvard Road, Guelph. Family and friends are encouraged to join and toast the life of this amazing woman.
