Obituary for Mrs. Leola Molto

Rita (Leola) Molto

On October 24, 2018, Leola Molto, daughter of the late Frank Keating and Mary Keating (Goetz), passed away peacefully in her 84th year surrounded by her family. Loving wife to Joseph Molto for almost 66 years. Mother to Mary (Stephen) of Brantford, Anne (Peter) of Kenilworth, Joe (Brenda) of Fergus, Paul (Anita) of Kitchener, Gerry (Sonya) of Kentville NS, Brian (Deb) of Clifford, Philip (Lois) of Kitchener and predeceased by daughter Elaine. Leola came from a family of 6 including, Jim (Fran) of Elora, Eddie (Fran) of Port Elgin, Anne Curtis (late Frank) of Guelph, Allan (Jane) of Salem and Linda of Fergus. Leola and Joe are also adoring grandparents to 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Besides being an incredible mother, Leola was a fantastic cook, baker, and gardener. She loved camping, quilting, and feeding company - the more the merrier! She was active for many years in the Catholic Women's League and was instrumental in raising funds for a humanitarian project in Kenya. She will always be in our hearts.

Special thanks to Twin Oaks long term care in Maryhill who tended her needs so well for over three difficult years, and became part of the extended family. Also, special thanks to the Elliott Community in Guelph who took Leola in and ministered to her with amazing professionalism and compassion. The support provided to the family during the palliative phase was overwhelming.

A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice Street, Guelph on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment at Marymount Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Rd. E, Guelph. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Elliott Community or the charity of your choice. Online donations and condolences can be made at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
