My sincere condolences to Terri's family.
I was in military recruit training (boot camp) with Terri in 1980, we were her platoon's "brother platoon".
I wish our path's could have crossed over the years, I thought about her a lot in the early days after boot camp.
To me, she was the prettiest of all the girls in her platoon. We never got to see them a lot because, well, it was boot camp lol.
But at the mess hall or church on Sunday, I would see her on occasion and radiate right to her, just hoping she would talk. She was so pretty, I was like that stammering teen boy that get's all tongue tied like in the movies. I knew then from our brief get togethers that she was no nonsense, meaning, she seemed very mature for her age. I think that attracted me to her also.
Being a police officer for the time she had served, does not surprise me, I knew she was going to excel at whatever she took on.
It's been 40 years at this very moment, we would have been just over half way through boot camp, and the memories are like yesterday.
I will stop there, and again extend my heartfelt condolences to family and friends and wish you sunnier days ahead.
