Obituary for Mr. Wayne Johnston

JOHNSTON, Wayne Frederick
September 11, 2020 - In his 76th year, Wayne is at peace after a lengthy battle with leukemia. Wayne enjoyed 52 wonderful years with his loving wife Beryl Ann (Huddleston). Beloved father to Patrick (Sarah MacAnulty) and Audra (Ian Bolton). Wayne will be missed by his 4 beautiful grandchildren Tanner, Jarrett, Elsie and Marty, and also his sisters-in-law Eleanor (Bryan Harrison) and Audrey (Rolf Heyking). Wayne spent his entire life in Guelph, growing up with parents Garnet and Elsie and 4 siblings, Richard (Catherine), Gary (Barb), Maureen (Frank Drescher) and Bob (Mary Gail).

Wayne enjoyed a fulfilling career as a high school business teacher at Guelph Collegiate and had 21 wonderful years of retirement. Wayne was happiest poolside or at the beach, and traveling with family and friends to Florida, Mexico, Ireland, Scotland, China, Spain, and Portugal, to name a few. He loved listening to rock & roll, watching movies, and driving his classic mustang, his motorcycle, and his new BMW convertible. Most of all, Wayne took pleasure in spending quality time with his loving family, his many friends and his faithful German Shepherds Jessie, Shelby, Roxy and Sam.

A private ceremony was held at Hospice Wellington. We are so thankful for our final days with Wayne in this peaceful place. Donations in Wayne’s honour to Hospice Wellington would be greatly appreciated.
